CMMI-DEV Level 3 for Practitioners
Official SEI Three-Day Course
Overview
This three day course provides participants with a more in-depth understanding of the concepts necessary for achieving and maintaining CMMI-DEV Maturity Level 3, including the relationships among CMMI-DEV model components.
Note: This course was designed for the CMMI for Development (CMMI-DEV) model. Although some of the material is common and would apply to all CMMI models, this course does not address the unique concepts that are covered in the CMMI for Acquisition (CMMI-ACQ) or CMMI for Services (CMMI-SVC) models.

Anyone interested in learning more about CMMI-DEV
Those responsible for improvement efforts who are trying to understand and implement CMMI-DEV
SCAMPI team members who are preparing for a Maturity Level 3 appraisal
Course Objectives
Students who complete the course will be able to:
understand the interrelationships among model components (e.g., practices, goals, and process areas)
interpret CMMI-DEV practices at Maturity Level 3
apply CMMI-DEV models to appraise and improve processes in organizations
Format
The course is composed of class lectures and exercises presented in a style that creates dialog among students and instructors. Students will be able to share, learn, and exchange ideas with other course participants and the instructors.
Prerequisites
It is strongly recommended that participants successfully complete the Introduction to CMMI-DEV course. Participants should also have a firm understanding of CMMI-DEV Maturity Level 2, which can be gained by completing the CMMI-DEV Level 2 for Practitioners course.
About the instructors
The instructors are SEI-authorized instructors for this course and experienced Lead Appraisers for SCAMPI appraisals. They have been helping software organizations improve quality and productivity for more than twenty years.
